A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced RN with a strong background in stepdown nursing. This contract role offers 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715) and provides care in a progressive care unit. Candidates should be comfortable in a dynamic environment and prepared to float to lesser units if required.
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
- Every other weekend required
- Major holidays required (potential schedule accommodations may be available)
- No on-call responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU RN experience
- High acuity drip experience preferred
- Experience with arterial lines, and bipap-airvo strongly desired
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- Commitment to a nicotine-free workplace
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to stepdown/PCU patients
- Monitor patient status and respond effectively to changes
- Administer medications, manage IV drips, and monitor arterial lines as appropriate
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other units within scope when necessary
Orientation:
- Days 1 & 2: Participate in a comprehensive two-day orientation
- Day 3: Facility-specific orientation
- Day 4: Clinical orientation
- Day 5: Unit-specific as assigned
Additional important information: This contract requires bi-weekly pay, adherence to facility policies, and participation in mandatory orientation. Please note, new nursing graduates are not eligible for this role.
