Provide specialized cardiac care as a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced stepdown unit, supporting patients recovering from cardiac events and surgeries. This travel position is based in Birmingham, AL, on a dedicated 42-bed cardiac PCU floor. The role requires a solid nursing background in cardiac stepdown with proficiency in ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications, ensuring excellent patient outcomes through skilled monitoring and intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients with a 1:4-1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and communication.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery.
- Float within a 25-mile radius to assist other units as needed.
- Adhere to professional dress code standards, wearing navy blue scrubs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years experience in cardiac stepdown nursing.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications are mandatory.
- Proven ability to manage cardiac patients in a stepdown or progressive care setting.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Schedule:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:30 PM 7:00 AM).
- Every other weekend required.
- 36 guaranteed hours weekly.
