Provide specialized nursing care in a Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit focused on cardiac patients, supporting recovery post-cardiac procedures and managing complex telemetry cases. This contract role offers a consistent night shift schedule, delivering critical care within a reputable medical setting.
Location: Birmingham, AL

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor cardiac telemetry patients, including those post-CABG, post-cath, and with CHF or chest pain.
- Manage infusion of cardiac drips using advanced equipment such as Alaris pumps and Omnicell systems.
- Maintain patient ratios of 4-5:1, ensuring high-quality individualized care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies, including dress code and fingernail standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in telemetry and cardiac care.
- Certified in AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Comfort with occasional float to like units.
- Ability to work 18:30 - 07:00 shifts, 36 guaranteed weekly hours, with every other weekend scheduled.
- Strong skills in telemetry monitoring and cardiac drip management.
Additional Details:
- Unit: 3 West, Progressive Care/Cardiac.
- 41-bed unit with a focus on cardiac tele patients.
- Dress code requires navy scrubs; fleece and improper attire are prohibited.
- No call requirements for this position.
