Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care in a Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit focused on cardiac patients, supporting recovery post-cardiac procedures and managing complex telemetry cases. This contract role offers a consistent night shift schedule, delivering critical care within a reputable medical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor cardiac telemetry patients, including those post-CABG, post-cath, and with CHF or chest pain.
  • Manage infusion of cardiac drips using advanced equipment such as Alaris pumps and Omnicell systems.
  • Maintain patient ratios of 4-5:1, ensuring high-quality individualized care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Adhere strictly to hospital policies, including dress code and fingernail standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in telemetry and cardiac care.
  • Certified in AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Comfort with occasional float to like units.
  • Ability to work 18:30 - 07:00 shifts, 36 guaranteed weekly hours, with every other weekend scheduled.
  • Strong skills in telemetry monitoring and cardiac drip management.

Additional Details:

  • Unit: 3 West, Progressive Care/Cardiac.
  • 41-bed unit with a focus on cardiac tele patients.
  • Dress code requires navy scrubs; fleece and improper attire are prohibited.
  • No call requirements for this position.
