Bring your expertise as a stepdown unit RN to a dynamic team providing exceptional care for general medicine and oncology patients. This is a contract opportunity for experienced nurses with a strong oncology background to excel on a progressive unit. Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts: 3x12-hour (19:00 07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling requests consideredplease specify with your application
• Weekends assigned by manager; other days managed through self-scheduling
• Must be available the first two weeks of the assignment

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ONCC or ONS certification (must be in hand; ONS pending will be considered)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience
• Proficiency in administering IV chemotherapy and starting IVs
• Experience with EPIC charting
• Familiarity with Welch Allyn Vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for stepdown and oncology patients
• Safely administer chemotherapy and monitor patient responses
• Manage patients at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:46, with additional support staff as needed
• Float as needed to other med surg areas, including AU and ER, caring for med surg patients
• Maintain rigorous documentation and adhere to facility protocols
• Adapt to evolving patient assignments, with decreased ratios for chemotherapy admissions
