Job Description

Make a meaningful impact each day as a Registered Nurse in a Stepdown setting. In this contract assignment, youll work with a dynamic, experienced team in a high-acuity environment, providing top-tier care for both intensive care and PCU-level patients.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday support scheduled as needed

Key Qualifications:

  • Current RN license with recent Medical ICU experience in a large facility
  • Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
  • Ability to effectively manage advanced critical care pharmacology, including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
  • Skilled in central line management and advanced monitoring techniques
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong critical thinking skills, adaptability, and collaborative spirit
  • Comfortable assisting providers with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubation

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care on a 10-bed unit serving as ICU/PCU overflow
  • Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 2:1 (ICU) and 4-5:1 (PCU)
  • Use lift equipment, targeted temperature management, ventilators, IV pumps, and more
  • Ensure clear patient handoffs with bedside shift reports
  • Participate in nurse leader rounding as relief charge RN
  • Document all care efficiently using Cerner EMR
  • Float to other units as needed to provide flexible coverage
