A skilled Registered Nurse with experience in stepdown care is needed for a contract position in a Level 2 trauma center specializing in surgical trauma cases. This role offers a dynamic environment where you'll provide critical care to patients recovering from trauma surgery and complex medical interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Trauma Stepdown unit post-surgery and trauma interventions.
• Monitor vital signs closely with telemetry and perform patient assessments every 4 hours.
• Administer and manage intravenous medications including complex drips such as Amiodarone, Heparin, Dopamine, and others.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to manage patients with neurological, cardiovascular, and pulmonary diagnoses.
• Provide compassionate care for patients requiring acute surgical consultation and post-op care involving trauma, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, neuro/spine, general, and urological surgeries.
• Utilize EMR systems, particularly Meditech, to document patient care accurately.
• Adapt to the fast-paced environment of a Level 2 trauma center with crucial decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with demonstrated experience in stepdown or progressive care units.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.
• Trauma and orthopedic nursing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR is a strong advantage.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule:

• Night Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
