Job Description

Seeking a skilled registered nurse with experience in stepdown care to provide expert clinical support and compassionate care on a contract basis. This role requires specialized knowledge in monitoring and responding to patients transitioning from intensive care, ensuring safe recovery and high-quality outcomes.

Schedule:

  • Contract position; scheduled hours may vary to meet unit needs.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum one year of recent stepdown unit experience
  • Proficiency in patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver attentive care to patients recovering from critical illness or surgery
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications, manage IVs, and carry out physician orders accurately
  • Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to signs of patient deterioration
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment, recovery plans, and discharge requirements
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient medical records
  • Foster a supportive and positive environment for patients and colleagues
