Job Description

Deliver excellent patient care within a dynamic, fast-paced inpatient overflow unit that serves both medical-surgical and step-down populations. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality nursing care among an engaged, collaborative team in an environment that values compassionate service and adaptability.

Schedule:

  • Shifts include both day and night options, each staffed by a supportive team of RNs, charge nurse, and CNAs
  • Every other weekend shift required
  • No on-call responsibilities

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Demonstrated telemetry competency
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
  • Ability to manage patient assignments with ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 as needed
  • Recent progressive care experience is highly preferred
  • Proficient in using Cerner EMR systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient-centered, compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population with short stays and quick turnover
  • Perform all essential RN duties including assessment, medication administration, and close monitoring of telemetry patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Float to other units as clinical needs demand, maintaining flexibility and professionalism
  • Maintain documentation and follow all unit policies and clinical guidelines
  • Uphold unit standards for dress (navy/white) and foster a positive work environment
