Step into a dynamic nursing environment focused on high-acuity care, where youll provide expert support for patients in a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit. Work alongside experienced colleagues dedicated to delivering exceptional care in a collaborative atmosphere. This contract position is ideal for RNs skilled in stepdown settings, seeking an engaging and challenging assignment.
Schedule & Hours:
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No on-call requirements
Qualifications:
- Current RN license and active BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 2 years of recent Medical ICU experience in a large facility
- Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and advanced critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
- Skilled with central line management and confident assisting with bedside procedures (chest tube insertion, intubations)
- Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and collaborative mindset
- Must be comfortable floating to other units as necessary
- Experience with Cerner documentation systems preferred
- Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care in both ICU and PCU settings, maintaining optimal patient ratios (2:1 ICU, 4-5:1 PCU)
- Closely monitor and stabilize critically ill patients using state-of-the-art equipment including TTM, ventilators, and lift devices
- Participate in bedside shift reports and nurse leader rounding to enhance patient experience
- Support providers during bedside procedures
- Engage in interdisciplinary communication and contribute to a positive, proactive team dynamic
