Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong stepdown experience to provide high-quality care in a dynamic acute care environment. This contract opportunity requires a candidate comfortable working in stepdown units and willing to take on charge nurse responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates adaptability, leadership, and clinical expertise to support both staff and patients in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum of one year recent experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit (PCU)
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a charge nurse when needed, coordinating staff assignments and supporting workflow
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in high-acuity environments and remain calm under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional bedside care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and intervention than typically provided in medical-surgical units
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, manage IV infusions, and respond swiftly to changes in patient conditions
• Lead and coordinate the nursing staff as charge nurse on assigned shifts, ensuring quality standards and patient safety protocols are maintained
• Facilitate communication among multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Educate patients and families about procedures, care plans, and ongoing health management
• Complete thorough documentation and maintain accurate patient records
