On this assignment, you will work within a progressive Cardiac Surgery Progressive Care Unit caring for patients recovering from cardiac procedures. Schedule/Hours
- Travel assignment (specific schedule to be discussed during interview)
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse license
- Recent experience within a Stepdown/Progressive Care (PCU) or equivalent cardiac post-surgical unit
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Commitment to high quality, patient-centered care
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients in the immediate post-cardiac surgery period
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and early signs of complications
- Administer medications and interventions according to physician orders
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary care teams ensuring optimal patient recovery
- Educate patients and families during all phases of recovery
