Job Title: School Nurse (RN) - Health Room
Position Type: Permanent/ Salary W2 Position
Start Date: ASAP (~2 weeks from offer to onboard before starting)
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to support students within a school setting. The School RN will provide direct nursing care, manage student health needs, and collaborate with families and school staff to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Current IL State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR/AED certification preferred
- Previous pediatric, school-based, or community health nursing experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency medical support to students.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
- Monitor and support students with chronic conditions, disabilities, and other medical needs.
- Develop and follow individualized healthcare and emergency care plans as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and documentation.
- Assist with health screenings, immunization compliance, and required health documentation.
- Communicate with families, school staff, healthcare providers, and administrators regarding student health needs.
- Respond to medical emergencies and follow established emergency protocols.
- Promote student wellness, health education, and disease prevention within the school community.
