Job Description

We are seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) to support students within a school setting. The CSN will provide comprehensive school health services, promote student wellness, and collaborate with families, staff, and healthcare providers to ensure students medical needs are safely supported throughout the school day.

Details: 

Position Type: Full Time Contract (W2) - Hourly Pay
Start Date: ASAP (~2 weeks from offer, will need to complete onboarding first)

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Valid IL Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification through the IL Department of Education. (PEL with CSN endorsement)
  • Current IL Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current CPR/AED certification

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency medical support to students and staff.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and district policies.
  • Develop and maintain individualized healthcare and emergency care plans for students with medical needs.
  • Conduct and coordinate required health screenings, assessments, and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and documentation.
  • Monitor immunization and health requirements in accordance with Pennsylvania regulations.
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs.
  • Participate in IEP, 504, and student support meetings as appropriate.
  • Provide health education and promote wellness, disease prevention, and healthy practices within the school community.
