Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care to provide skilled nursing services in a supportive healthcare environment located in Waikoloa, HI. This contract role offers the chance to work at a facility combining hospital and long-term care services, delivering comprehensive patient care across varied shift schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide treatments in accordance with patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Communicate pertinent clinical information to physicians and nurse practitioners.
  • Manage admissions and discharges efficiently.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Provide specialized care including gastrostomy tube management, urinary catheter care, nebulizer treatments, wound vacuum therapy, and CPAP usage.
  • Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to a rotating schedule of 8-hour shifts including days (7:30 AM 3:30 PM), evenings (3:00 PM 11:30 PM), nights (11:00 PM 7:30 AM), weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license with an active Hawaii State license by the start of assignment.
  • Experience in rehabilitation and long-term care nursing.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver specialized nursing care.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Commitment to arriving on-site a day before the assignment for required health appointments.
