Job Description
Provide specialized nursing care within a Long Term Care setting located on the premises of a hospital in Waikoloa, HI. This contract position requires flexibility in shift scheduling with varied 8-hour shifts covering days, evenings, and nights, including weekends, holidays, and potential overtime rotations.
Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, administering treatments and medications, communicating important information to medical providers, managing admissions and discharges, and assisting with activities of daily living. Clinical duties also involve specialized care such as gastrostomy tube management, urinary catheter care, nebulizer treatments, wound vacuum therapy, and CPAP care, alongside other assigned nursing tasks.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, with an active license for the state of Hawaii by the start date
- Experience in rehabilitation and long term care nursing
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver skilled nursing treatments
- Proficient in medication administration and patient care documentation
- Comfortable rotating through day, evening, and night shifts with weekend and holiday availability
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams
Shift Schedule:
- Days: 7:30 AM 3:30 PM
- Evenings: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
- Nights: 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
Contract employees must arrive in Waikoloa by the Thursday before the assignment to complete a mandatory employee health appointment on Friday. Timeliness is essential; do not accept this position without the ability to meet this requirement. Candidates without a Hawaii nursing license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance to ensure license activation by assignment start.
