A pivotal role is available for a registered nurse with rehabilitation and long-term care experience, serving as the Staff Development Coordinator in a well-established nursing and rehabilitation center in Roxboro, NC. This contract position involves leading the orientation and ongoing education of nursing personnel to uphold the highest standards of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate orientation programs for new nursing staff.
- Plan and conduct educational in-services for nurses and nursing assistants.
- Organize an annual skills day to enhance clinical competencies.
- Ensure all nursing licenses and certifications are current and properly documented.
- Manage nursing assistant renewal documentation and submission.
- Oversee incident and medication error investigations to maintain patient safety.
- Monitor infection control measures throughout the facility.
- Provide direct patient care when necessary, including on-call nurse duties in accordance with facility policies.
- Execute additional responsibilities as delegated by nursing leadership.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse license with proven experience in rehabilitation and long-term care environments.
- Skilled in staff education and development processes.
- Strong organizational and communication capabilities.
- Certification in SPICE (preferred or required).
- Ability to handle direct patient care responsibilities as needed.
- Competence in infection control and incident management protocols.
Schedule:
- Day shift, 5 days per week.
- 8-hour shifts from 08:00 to 17:00.
