A pivotal role is available for a registered nurse with rehabilitation and long-term care experience, serving as the Staff Development Coordinator in a well-established nursing and rehabilitation center in Roxboro, NC. This contract position involves leading the orientation and ongoing education of nursing personnel to uphold the highest standards of patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate orientation programs for new nursing staff.
• Plan and conduct educational in-services for nurses and nursing assistants.
• Organize an annual skills day to enhance clinical competencies.
• Ensure all nursing licenses and certifications are current and properly documented.
• Manage nursing assistant renewal documentation and submission.
• Oversee incident and medication error investigations to maintain patient safety.
• Monitor infection control measures throughout the facility.
• Provide direct patient care when necessary, including on-call nurse duties in accordance with facility policies.
• Execute additional responsibilities as delegated by nursing leadership.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse license with proven experience in rehabilitation and long-term care environments.
• Skilled in staff education and development processes.
• Strong organizational and communication capabilities.
• Certification in SPICE (preferred or required).
• Ability to handle direct patient care responsibilities as needed.
• Competence in infection control and incident management protocols.

Schedule:

• Day shift, 5 days per week.
• 8-hour shifts from 08:00 to 17:00.
