A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care settings. This contract position involves working with adult patients on a dedicated 30-bed Stroke/Neuro rehab unit. The schedule features consistent evening shifts and a predictable rotation, allowing for work-life balance and meaningful patient relationships.
Schedule:
- 32 hours per week
- 8-hour evening shifts (3:00 PM 11:30 PM)
- Four days a week with every other weekend rotation
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current RN license
- Proven experience in Rehabilitation and/or Long-Term Care nursing
- Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and patient advocacy skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to adult patients with neurological and stroke-related needs
- Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues
- Competence with electronic medical records and documentation procedures
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care and rehabilitation interventions to adults recovering from stroke or neurological events
- Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and support physicians in creating individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and rehabilitation expectations
- Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients on the unit
- Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapists to maximize rehabilitation outcomes
- Maintain accurate patient records and participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care
