Job Description

Provide expert nursing care in a Long-Term Care setting located within a hospital environment in Laupahoehoe, HI. This travel opportunity requires a compassionate, skilled RN with experience in rehabilitation and long-term care to perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer treatments and medications, and collaborate closely with medical staff. Timely communication of patient status to physicians or nurse practitioners is essential. Responsibilities include managing admissions and discharges, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and providing specialized care such as gastrostomy tube and urinary catheter maintenance, nebulizer treatments, wound vac management, and CPAP care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide skilled nursing treatments
  • Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses
  • Notify MD/NP promptly of significant clinical changes
  • Manage admission and discharge processes for patients
  • Assist patients with ADLs and support their rehabilitation goals
  • Provide specialized care including gastrostomy tube, catheter, nebulizer, wound vac, and CPAP management
  • Work varied 8-hour shifts including days (7:30 AM - 3:30 PM), evenings (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), and nights (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM), including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current, active RN license with experience in Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care settings
  • Ability to obtain Hawaii state nursing license prior to assignment start (mandatory for employment)
