Job Description

Providing skilled nursing care in a long-term care setting within a hospital environment requires dedication and expertise. This opportunity focuses on delivering comprehensive patient care in a rehabilitation and long-term care unit, supporting patients through assessments, treatments, medication administration, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide appropriate treatments aligned with care plans.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, monitoring patient response.
  • Communicate timely and pertinent clinical information to physicians and nurse practitioners.
  • Perform admitting and discharging procedures for patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including specialized care such as gastrostomy tube, urinary catheter, nebulizer treatments, wound vac, and CPAP care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Adapt to varied 8-hour shift schedules including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays with possible overtime rotation.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license specifically for the state of Hawaii is mandatory.
  • Experience in rehabilitation and long-term care nursing preferred.
  • Ability to perform clinical skills relevant to long-term care settings.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt to schedule changes.
