Job Description
Providing skilled nursing care in a Long Term Care and Rehabilitation setting, this travel nursing opportunity requires a dedicated RN with experience in rehab and long-term care. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure high-quality care. The position is based in Kamuela, HI, offering a chance to practice in a scenic and culturally rich location.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments, treatments, and medication administration
- Communicate effectively with MDs/NPs about patient conditions and changes
- Manage admissions and discharges with accurate documentation
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide specialized care including gastrostomy tube, urinary catheter, nebulizer treatments, wound vac, and CPAP care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Work varied 8-hour shifts including days (7:30 AM3:30 PM), evenings (3:00 PM11:30 PM), and nights (11:00 PM7:30 AM), covering weekends, holidays, and potential overtime rotation
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii by start of assignment (applicants must apply promptly if not currently licensed)
- Experience in Rehabilitation or Long-Term Care nursing preferred
- Ability to perform detailed patient assessments and proficient in specialized care techniques
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
