Provide skilled nursing care in a long-term care setting integrated within a hospital environment, focusing on comprehensive patient assessments and treatments. This role involves medication administration, communicating critical information to medical providers, and supporting patients with activities of daily living. Additional clinical duties include gastrostomy tube care, urinary catheter maintenance, nebulizer treatments, wound vac care, and CPAP management.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide individualized care plans
• Administer medications accurately and monitor patient responses
• Communicate pertinent patient information to physicians or nurse practitioners promptly
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Manage specialized treatments such as gastrostomy tube care, urinary catheter care, nebulizer therapy, wound vac dressing changes, and CPAP use
• Participate in patient admissions and discharges as required
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care delivery

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with a Hawaii state license by the assignment start date (candidates without Hawaii license must apply upon offer acceptance)
• Experience in rehabilitation or long-term care nursing preferred
• Ability to work varied 8-hour shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and potential overtime
• Strong clinical skills in medication administration and specialized care procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Location: Based in Kamuela, HI, this assignment offers the opportunity to serve patients in a picturesque Hawaiian setting known for its stunning landscapes and welcoming community. The facility is situated within a long-term care hospital environment surrounded by natural beauty and local culture.

Additional Information:

• Must arrive the Thursday before start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday
• Shift schedule includes days (7:30 AM 3:30 PM), evenings (3:00 PM 11:30 PM), and nights (11:00 PM 7:30 AM), with no guaranteed preference for shifts or hours
• This is a contract position
