Registered Nurse Rehab/Long-Term Care
Location: Geneva, NY
Job Type: Contract
An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Rehab and Long-Term Care to provide clinical supervision and leadership within a nursing unit. This role operates under the direction of the Director of Nursing LTC, ensuring the delivery of quality resident care, staff mentorship, and efficient unit management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of nursing units, providing clinical supervision to nursing staff.
- Ensure quality resident care through staff education, guidance, and adherence to protocols.
- Communicate regularly with Director of Nursing and Nurse Managers to identify, address, and resolve unit challenges.
- Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of nursing leadership during off-shifts and weekends.
- Collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, and ancillary services to promote a cohesive care environment.
- Maintain compliance with NYSDOH regulations and facility policies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in managing multiple priorities under pressure while promoting teamwork and professional conduct.
- Uphold standards of safety, dignity, and respect in the care environment, modeling excellent communication and leadership.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing. BSN preferred.
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system during clinical orientation.
- Completion of CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skillsboth written and oral.
- Computer literacy and ability to manage stressful situations professionally.
- Familiarity with New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) requirements.
- Ability to safely perform tasks with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens in accordance with safety guidelines.
