Job Description
Deliver compassionate psychiatric nursing care in a dynamic clinical environment as a Registered Nurse with expertise in behavioral health. This contract position offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient-centered mental health services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Specialized experience or strong interest in psychiatric or mental health nursing
- Previous background in behavioral health settings preferred
- Excellent observation, critical thinking, and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Proficiency in managing medication administration and documentation according to protocols
Schedule/Hours:
- Schedule follows facility assignment; flexibility is valued to meet patient and unit needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing evaluations for individuals requiring mental health care
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in coordination with an interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications, monitor their effects, and document patient responses
- Use de-escalation and therapeutic communication techniques to promote a safe, supportive environment
- Educate patients and families regarding psychiatric conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal treatment outcomes
- Maintain accurate, clear nursing records and adhere to all regulatory requirements

$1,776 - $1,873/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
