Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 26-week contract assignment at a psychiatric hospital in Warm Springs, Montana. This role involves providing direct nursing care, medication administration, and clinical support to patients receiving behavioral health and psychiatric treatment in a secure clinical environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an acute psychiatric setting and committed to maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Schedule:

  • 3648 hours per week (based on unit needs)

  • Available shifts:

    • Days: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM

    • Nights: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

  • Overtime may be available based on facility needs but is not guaranteed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with facility policies and physician orders

  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately

  • Perform patient assessments, monitor behavioral and medical status, and document findings

  • Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies using appropriate clinical interventions

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff

  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans

  • Maintain safety by following behavioral health protocols and de-escalation procedures

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements applicable)

  • Minimum experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or acute care nursing preferred

  • Current BLS certification (required)

  • CPI, MOAB, or other crisis intervention training preferred (may be required prior to start)

  • Ability to pass required background screening, drug screening, and onboarding requirements
