This 26-week contract position calls for experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses to provide crucial support at a psychiatric hospital setting. You will work with patients facing significant behavioral health challenges, ensuring safety and therapeutic outcomes within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Schedule:
- 3648 hours per week, depending on unit needs
- Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Overtime potentially available based on facility needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct psychiatric nursing care consistent with established policies and physician directives
- Safely administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions
- Conduct patient assessments, monitor mental and physical status, and maintain thorough documentation
- Respond promptly to psychiatric and medical emergencies utilizing established clinical protocols
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and support personnel to coordinate care
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Promote safety by adhering to behavioral health standards and employing de-escalation techniques
- Provide patient and family education regarding care plans, medications, and discharge processes
Requirements:
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license as per state regulations
- Previous experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or acute care nursing preferred
- Current BLS certification (required)
- CPI, MOAB, or other crisis intervention training (preferred; may be required before assignment begins)
- Ability to meet all pre-employment screenings and onboarding requirements
