A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Psychiatric/ Addiction Registered Nurse (RN) in Tularosa, NM. This contract role focuses on adult acute psychiatric care, providing comprehensive nursing services in a dynamic unit aiming to expand patient capacity and enhance quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver thorough nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and efficacy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient histories, symptoms, and care provided.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support their understanding and wellbeing.
- Exhibit leadership as aligned with the nursing competencies, including self-leadership and delegation to optimize clinical management.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or addiction nursing experience preferred.
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
Schedule and Work Type:
- Full time, with day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
