Schedule
- Shifts: 3x12 hours, including every third weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Flexible unit/shift assignments, with potential to float as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Minimum 6 months relevant experience in a psychiatric setting
- At least one prior completed travel assignment (no first-time travelers)
- Certification: BLS, CPI (obtained onsite)
- Proficiency in de-escalation, IM injections, and patient safety techniques
- Strong patience, compassion, and composure under pressure
- Comfortable managing multiple escalated patients and executing physical holds
Responsibilities
- Care for adolescent patients with acute psychiatric diagnoses and behavioral challenges
- Safely monitor and intervene in crisis situations, leveraging verbal de-escalation and physical intervention as appropriate
- Administer medications and complete charting in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and security for comprehensive care
- Participate in code response and maintain adherence to safety protocols
- Flexibly float across units and care for various age groups as needed
