Working in a 23-bed adolescent psychiatric unit, you'll encounter a diverse caseload including patients with mood disorders, behavioral challenges, and self-injurious behaviors. Schedule/Hours:
- 3 x 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend rotation
- No on-call requirement
- Holiday shifts as needed (based on unit requirements)
Qualifications:
- RN license with minimum 6 months experience
- BLS certification required
- First-time travelers welcome
- Strong deescalation and crisis intervention skills (training provided on site)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for adolescents ages 14-18 with psychiatric diagnoses
- Facilitate crisis intervention and employ de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with an integrated team to support milieu management
- Adapt to occasional floating within the pod or to other age groups
