An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in psychiatric and behavioral health care to serve in an overnight leadership role. This position involves providing supervision and support across nursing teams as the off-shift house nurse supervisor. Effective immediately, the role focuses on overseeing hospital operations and clinical care delivery during nighttime hours.
Schedule:
- 10:45pm 7:15am
- Five 8-hour shifts per week (40 hours total)
- Every other weekend coverage required (Friday and Saturday overnight shifts)
Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Extensive clinical experience in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred
- Excellent judgment and crisis management skills
- Ability to guide, support, and mentor staff in a high-acuity environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all inpatient nursing activity during night shifts
- Provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of safe, effective psychiatric nursing care
- Respond promptly to emergencies, managing and escalating issues as needed
- Serve as the administrative resource for on-site staff in the absence of unit managers
- Assess staffing needs, allocate resources, and support team workflow
- Facilitate smooth handoff and concise communication between shifts
- Uphold compliance with established policies, procedures, and care standards
