Job Description
Step into a vital nursing role within a psychiatric and behavioral health hospital on a 26-week contract assignment, supporting patients in acute psychiatric care. Youll be part of an experienced clinical team, providing targeted interventions and compassionate nursing care in a secure, therapeutic environment.
Schedule:
- 3648 hours per week depending on unit demands
- Day shifts: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Night shifts: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Overtime may be available, based on facility needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct psychiatric nursing care following clinical policies and provider orders
- Safely administer medications, treatments, and therapies to behavioral health patients
- Assess patient condition, monitor behavioral/medical changes, and document assessments
- Respond promptly to psychiatric and medical emergencies using clinical protocols
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Develop, update, and implement individualized care plans
- Promote patient and team safety through adherence to de-escalation and behavioral health procedures
- Educate patients and their families regarding care plans, medications, and discharge information
Qualifications:
- Active RN license, meeting state requirements
- Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or acute care nursing is preferred
- Current BLS certification
- CPI, MOAB, or crisis intervention training is advantageous (may be required prior to start)
- Ability to complete required background and drug screenings
