Job Description

Step into a vital nursing role within a psychiatric and behavioral health hospital on a 26-week contract assignment, supporting patients in acute psychiatric care. Youll be part of an experienced clinical team, providing targeted interventions and compassionate nursing care in a secure, therapeutic environment.

Schedule:

  • 3648 hours per week depending on unit demands
  • Day shifts: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
  • Night shifts: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Overtime may be available, based on facility needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct psychiatric nursing care following clinical policies and provider orders
  • Safely administer medications, treatments, and therapies to behavioral health patients
  • Assess patient condition, monitor behavioral/medical changes, and document assessments
  • Respond promptly to psychiatric and medical emergencies using clinical protocols
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop, update, and implement individualized care plans
  • Promote patient and team safety through adherence to de-escalation and behavioral health procedures
  • Educate patients and their families regarding care plans, medications, and discharge information

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license, meeting state requirements
  • Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or acute care nursing is preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • CPI, MOAB, or crisis intervention training is advantageous (may be required prior to start)
  • Ability to complete required background and drug screenings
