Schedule/Hours:

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
  • No on-call shifts
  • Holiday assignments dependent on rotation
  • Flexible floating across units, with changing patient populations

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 6 months of psychiatric nursing experience
  • Successful completion of at least one prior travel assignment
  • BLS certification required; CPI training provided onsite
  • Experience with de-escalation, milieu management, IM medications, and crisis situations
  • Comfortable independently managing a unit and making safety decisions
  • Flexible, open to floating, and able to adapt to varying patient populations and shifting assignments

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based care for children and adolescents with behavioral health needs
  • Administer appropriate medications and respond swiftly during escalations
  • Use restraint and seclusion procedures per clinical protocols when necessary
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, case managers, and security staff
  • Ensure documentation in Cerner EMR and manage medication dispensing via Omnicell
  • Participate in ongoing unit and global orientation for seamless integration
