Schedule/Hours:
- 3x12-hour shifts
- Every third weekend rotation
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday shifts based on scheduled days
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license with minimum 6 months of RN experience
- At least one completed travel assignment prior to this placement
- BLS certification
- CPI (obtained onsite)
- Experienced in de-escalation, milieu management, and physically managing pediatric patients in crisis
- Competency in administering IM medications and handling medically cleared asthma patients
- Ability to independently manage escalated events
- Strength in working with trauma and abuse victims, as well as diverse adolescent populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing to children with behavioral and emotional challenges
- Manage crisis situations through seclusion/restraint per protocol
- Collaborate closely with mental health techs, therapists, case managers, and security
- Accurately document and use EMR (Cerner) and medication dispensing systems (Omnicell)
- Adapt to unit needs, floating between age groups and departments when required
