Working in this specialized psychiatric unit (23 beds), youll care for adolescents aged 4-12 with complex needs, including trauma, impulsivity, self-harm, and more. By managing challenging situations, supporting different functioning levels, and responding to patient escalations, youll sharpen your crisis management and leadership skills. Flexible scheduling and float opportunities across age groups and units mean every day presents something newgreat for broadening your clinical perspective and making your resume stand out.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 3x12-hour shifts (rotating)
  • Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
  • No on-call
  • Holiday coverage based on scheduled days
  • 5 days of approved time off

Desired Qualifications:

  • RN license with a minimum 6 months experience (no first-time travelers)
  • Completion of at least one previous travel assignment
  • BLS certification
  • CPI certification (can be obtained on site)
  • Strong skills in de-escalation, psychiatric milieu management, and IM medication administration
  • Comfortable managing seclusion/restraint events, and floating between units

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct clinical care to children/adolescents with acute psychiatric conditions
  • Utilize advanced de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
  • Implement care plans, administer medications, and document accurately in Cerner EMR
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (therapists, case managers, security)
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and compliant environment at all times
