Schedule:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend rotation every third weekend
- No on-call requirement
- Holiday shifts based on facility scheduling
- Approved up to 5 days RTO
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 6 months of recent experience
- Completed at least one prior travel assignment
- BLS required; CPI certification (provided on site), must be physically able to perform patient holds/restraints
- Strong de-escalation and milieu management skills with children ages 412 and varying levels of mental health needs
- Experience administering IM medications, managing multiple escalated patients, and working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexible and comfortable floating between child and adult units as census requires
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to adolescent patients displaying aggressive, impulsive, or self-harm behaviors
- Use clinical judgment to initiate safety interventions, including use of restraint/seclusion per protocol
- Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, and security, leveraging state-of-the-art code response technology and resources
- Document care and interventions in Cerner EMR; utilize Omnicell medication dispensing
- Support a safe therapeutic environment and lead milieu management efforts
