Schedule/Hours
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage based on scheduled workdays
Key Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 6 months of behavioral health nursing experience
- At least one completed travel assignment
- BLS certification required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required (can be obtained on-site)
- Proficiency in de-escalation, milieu management, and managing patients across a broad pediatric age range
- Comfortable with seclusion/restraint procedures and IM medication administration
Responsibilities
- Manage care for adolescent patients (ages 4-12) with complex behavioral health needs, including those demonstrating aggression, impulsivity, self-harm, and trauma
- Respond efficiently to crisis situations, implement therapeutic holds when necessary, and utilize seclusion/restraint per protocol
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, case managers, and security staff
- Float as needed throughout the facility, adapting to varying unit needs and age groups
- Utilize Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
