Working in a diverse behavioral health setting, youll care for adolescent patients (typically ages 4-12) facing complex challenges such as trauma, aggression, impulsivity, and self-harm. This role provides an excellent chance to strengthen skills in crisis intervention, patient assessment, and independent unit management while learning from supportive leadership and multidisciplinary colleagues. Youll benefit from exposure to different operational protocols, advanced safety practices, and a collaborative approach to patient care, all contributing to your expanding expertise and resume.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
  • No on-call duty
  • Holiday shifts based on rotation

Required Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with BLS certification; CPI will be completed onsite
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in behavioral health nursing and successful completion of at least one prior travel assignment
  • Strong background in de-escalation, milieu management, and crisis response
  • Comfortable with physical interventions, seclusion/restraint decisions, IM medication administration, and handling multiple escalated patients simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to adolescent behavioral health patients, managing complex behavioral episodes
  • Implement de-escalation techniques, and participate in safe restraint/seclusion interventions as needed
  • Administer IM medications and monitor medical conditions such as asthma
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner and facilitate coordinated care with therapists, case managers, and security
