A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with psychiatric and addiction experience to provide exceptional care to adult patients in an acute psychiatric setting. This role is based in La Luz, NM, and offers a contract position with the potential for temp-to-perm placement. The ideal candidate will bring strong psych nursing skills to support the growth of the unit, currently caring for up to 16 patients with goals to expand capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Demonstrate leadership competencies aligned with professional nursing standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Current RN license in New Mexico or a compact state.
- BLS certification (AHA only) required.
- Strong psych nursing and addiction care skills.
Schedule:
- Full-time day shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM.
