Schedule/Hours:
- Travel position; flexible schedules may be available
Qualifications:
- Active NY RN license
- BLS Certification through AHA (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments by interviewing patients and families to gather case histories
- Plan and deliver personalized nursing care for psychiatric patients
- Make nursing diagnoses and recommend treatment options in collaboration with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff
- Administer and monitor reactions to psychotropic drugs and other prescribed medications
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Provide education and support to patients regarding their emotional disturbances and treatment needs
- Maintain a secure, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
- Handle administrative duties such as documentation, progress notes, and responding to service requests courteously
