Job Description

Step into a vital leadership role supporting psychiatric nursing care during the overnight shift. As an Off-Shift House Nurse Supervisor, you will oversee nursing operations and support staff throughout the hospital, ensuring safe, high-quality care for psychiatric patients. This full-time, contract opportunity covers the 10:45pm 7:15am shift, with a consistent schedule of five 8-hour shifts each week and every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday overnights).

Schedule:

  • 10:45pm 7:15am
  • 5 shifts per week (8 hours each, totaling 40 hours)
  • Includes every other weekend (overnight Friday and Saturday)

Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted RN license required
  • Previous experience as a psychiatric nurse (RN-Psych or RN Psychiatric)
  • Prior nursing leadership or supervisor experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all nursing activities during overnight shifts across hospital units
  • Serve as the administrative resource for nursing and support staff during off-hours
  • Ensure effective communication between clinical teams, addressing patient and operational needs
  • Facilitate crisis management, triage concerns, and provide escalation support for clinical staff
  • Maintain patient safety standards and ensure policies are followed throughout the shift
  • Support a collaborative, caring environment for both staff and patients
