Job Description
Take on a vital role as a Registered Nurse providing psychiatric and behavioral health care at a dedicated facility in Montana. This 26-week contract assignment is ideal for talented RNs looking to make a difference in an acute care behavioral health environment while advancing their clinical experience.
Schedule:
- 3648 hours per week, with flexibility based on unit needs
- Choice of shifts: Days (7:00 AM 7:00 PM) or Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
- Overtime may be offered depending on facility needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care for psychiatric patients, ensuring adherence to safety and treatment protocols
- Administer medications and conduct therapeutic interventions with attention to patient safety and regulatory compliance
- Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and accurately document clinical findings
- Actively respond to and manage psychiatric and medical emergencies using clinical best practices
- Work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Support a safe environment by employing crisis prevention, de-escalation strategies, and behavioral health protocols
- Educate patients and families about medications, care plans, and discharge instructions
Qualifications:
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license meeting state-specific requirements
- Previous experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or acute care nursing preferred
- BLS certification required; crisis intervention training (such as CPI/MOAB) strongly preferred or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Ability to meet all pre-employment screenings and onboarding requirements
