Youll collaborate with supportive leadership prioritizing staff safety and well-being, and enhance your rsum with advanced milieu management, crisis intervention, and multi-disciplinary teamwork. With access to leading-edge safety protocols and technology, youll gain familiarity with systems like Cerner EMR and Omnicell.
Schedule/Hours:
- 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Flexibility to float and adapt to various shifts and age groups as patient needs change
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled psychiatric nursing care to adolescent patients (ages 412), including those with a history of trauma, aggressive behaviors, or state guardianship.
- Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and milieu management across diverse functioning levels.
- Make critical decisions involving physical holds, seclusions, and restraints in accordance with safety protocol.
- Administer IM medications and monitor medically cleared asthma patients.
- Independently oversee unit operations, collaborating with therapists, case managers, and security to ensure a secure environment.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing process improvementleadership is highly responsive to frontline feedback.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license and BLS certification (CPI obtained on-site)
- Minimum of 6 months recent RN experience in a psychiatric setting
- At least one prior travel assignment completed
- Proficiency in crisis management and willingness to engage in physical intervention when necessary
- Comfortable managing multiple escalated patient events and floating to other age groups as needed
