As a registered nurse experienced in psychiatric care, you will work with adolescents dealing with a variety of behavioral and emotional issues. Youll be supported by a collaborative team, including department leadership, therapists, case managers, and security resourcesall focused on patient and staff safety. Exposure to advanced safety protocols, rapid response technologies, and multidisciplinary teamwork will accelerate your professional growth.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 3 x 12-hour shifts (varied, with every third weekend rotation)
  • No on-call required
  • Holiday expectations per facility schedule
  • 5 days RTO allowed

Qualifications:

  • RN license, current BLS
  • CPI certification (obtained onsite)
  • Minimum 6 months RN experience, with at least one completed travel assignment
  • Proficiency in de-escalation, milieu management (ages 4-12), and crisis intervention
  • Able to physically perform safe patient holds and restraints
  • Experience with IM medication administration and care of asthma patients
  • Comfortable independently managing a unit and multiple escalated situations
  • Flexibility to float between adolescent and adult units as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct psychiatric nursing care to adolescents
  • Use trauma-informed approaches for challenging behavioral cases
  • Lead and manage crisis situations, including seclusion/restraint events
  • Document care in Cerner EMR and ensure safe medication administration via Omnicell
  • Partner efficiently with multidisciplinary team members
