Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care as an RN in a dynamic inpatient setting located in Corning, NY. This contract position offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills through charge nurse responsibilities while delivering compassionate care to patients within the psychiatric unit. The role may include floating to the Inpatient Addiction Rehab Unit (ARU), allowing for diverse experience across behavioral health specialties.
Schedule & Hours:
- Five 8-hour shifts per week
- Shift timing: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with potential for agreed-upon changes
- Holidays and every other weekend are required
- Weekend schedule adjustments require pre-arranged coverage
- Block scheduling subject to prior approval
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing assessments and interventions
- Monitor patient behavior and response to treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Assume charge nurse duties as trained, overseeing unit operations during shifts
- Adapt to floating assignments within related units, such as the addiction rehab unit
- Adhere to hospital uniform policy, wearing navy blue scrubs as standard attire
