Step into a vital leadership role providing expert clinical guidance and support during evening and overnight hours at a leading healthcare facility. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in psychiatric nursing to serve as an Off-Shift House Nurse Supervisor. This contract position ensures high-quality patient care and serves as a critical resource for nursing staff.
Schedule:
- 10:45pm 7:15am shift
- Five 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours
- Includes every other weekend: Friday and Saturday (11pm-7am)
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing
- Demonstrated experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong critical thinking, delegation, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to make high-stakes decisions independently and support staff in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff during off-shifts
- Address immediate staffing needs, patient flow, and clinical emergencies
- Serve as a resource for troubleshooting complex clinical situations, patient concerns, and operational issues
- Ensure adherence to facility policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate effective communication between staff, administration, and multidisciplinary teams
- Respond confidently to incidents, code situations, and urgent admissions
- Support a therapeutic and positive environment for patients and staff throughout the night
