Job Description
Deliver compassionate psychiatric nursing care in a highly regarded hospital environment committed to nursing excellence and patient safety. This contract position calls for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in psychiatric settings to provide comprehensive care and support to patients facing acute mental health challenges.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position (exact schedule to be discussed upon interview)
Qualifications:
- Current, active RN license in good standing
- Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing highly preferred
- BLS certification required; additional psychiatric certifications are a plus
- Excellent assessment, communication, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and across shifts as needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform holistic nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for psychiatric patients
- Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and support medication adherence
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies
- Deliver crisis intervention, support patients during emotional distress, and ensure a therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate safe, effective care
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and coping strategies
- Advocate for patient safety and uphold the highest clinical standards throughout care delivery
