Step into a 30-bed adult psychiatric unit specializing in comprehensive mental health care for patients ages 18 to 65. Here, youll treat a wide range of diagnosesfrom mood and thought disorders to dual diagnosis patients in need of detox and medical care. Working in this diverse and challenging environment will expose you to progressive care approaches, influential leadership, and a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, broadening your clinical expertise and strengthening your adaptability.
Schedule/Hours:
- Rotating shifts required for day positions: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, and 7p-7a
- Every other weekend (EOW)
- 36 hours per week
- Night shifts available (rotation not required)
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experience
- Skilled in Omni Cell automatic medication dispensing
- Proficient in managing psychotropic medications and recognizing side effects
- Confident in assuming charge nurse responsibilities, managing admissions/discharges
- Experienced in IV pump operation and diabetic care
- Current Massachusetts RN license and AHA BLS certification required
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver holistic nursing care to adults facing acute and complex psychiatric conditions
- Collaborate within a supportive team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Effectively manage a 1:7-8 RN-to-patient ratio for dedicated, individualized care
- Initiate and oversee medication regimens, including monitoring and side effect management
- Support patient wellness through detox care, wound care, and diabetes monitoring
