Job Description

Step into a specialized nursing role supporting behavioral health and psychiatric care in a respected inpatient setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses with psychiatric experience who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, safe, and effective care.

Schedule:

  • 13-week contract
  • Five 8-hour shifts per week (no 12-hour shifts)
  • 2nd shift: 2:45pm to 11:15pm

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid in New Hampshire (NH)
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Minimum of two years inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
  • Demonstrated skills in behavioral health interventions, crisis management, and patient advocacy
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient behavioral health unit
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions
  • Monitor and document mental/physical health status, medication administration, and treatment progress
  • Respond to psychiatric emergencies and de-escalate potentially volatile situations
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and discharge planning for ongoing mental wellness
  • Uphold high standards of professional practice and compliance with facility protocols
