Step into a specialized nursing role supporting behavioral health and psychiatric care in a respected inpatient setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses with psychiatric experience who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, safe, and effective care.
Schedule:
- 13-week contract
- Five 8-hour shifts per week (no 12-hour shifts)
- 2nd shift: 2:45pm to 11:15pm
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid in New Hampshire (NH)
- BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Minimum of two years inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
- Demonstrated skills in behavioral health interventions, crisis management, and patient advocacy
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient behavioral health unit
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions
- Monitor and document mental/physical health status, medication administration, and treatment progress
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and de-escalate potentially volatile situations
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and discharge planning for ongoing mental wellness
- Uphold high standards of professional practice and compliance with facility protocols
