Job Description

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current and unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred
  • BLS certification required; additional psychiatric nursing certifications a plus
  • Strong assessment, clinical, and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in crisis situations
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, dignity, and privacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care within the psychiatric unit, adhering to individualized treatment plans
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient progress and behaviors
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses, to promote optimal outcomes
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as needed
  • Facilitate patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and community resources
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients and staff
  • Uphold nursing best practices and regulatory standards
