Work alongside a dynamic behavioral health team, delivering compassionate care in psychiatric nursing. As a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric care, you will play a key role in supporting patients through their recovery journey in an innovative and highly respected healthcare environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required; additional psychiatric nursing certifications a plus
- Strong assessment, clinical, and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in crisis situations
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, dignity, and privacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care within the psychiatric unit, adhering to individualized treatment plans
- Monitor, assess, and document patient progress and behaviors
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses, to promote optimal outcomes
- Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as needed
- Facilitate patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and community resources
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients and staff
- Uphold nursing best practices and regulatory standards
