Job Description
Experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses are needed for a 26-week assignment supporting behavioral health patients in a secure clinical setting. This position offers the unique opportunity to deliver patient-centered psychiatric care while collaborating with a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
Schedule:
- 3648 hours per week based on unit needs
- Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Overtime shifts may be available depending on facility needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and support to patients in a specialized behavioral health setting
- Administer medications, organized treatments, and therapeutic interventions accurately and safely
- Conduct patient assessments, monitor clinical and behavioral status, and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Respond promptly and effectively to psychiatric and medical emergencies
- Collaborate with physicians, mental health therapists, and support staff to optimize patient care
- Participate in care planning and implement individualized treatment strategies
- Uphold facility safety protocols and practice de-escalation techniques to ensure a secure environment
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific requirements apply)
- Previous experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, corrections, or acute care nursing preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- CPI, MOAB, or similar crisis intervention training preferred (required prior to start if not current)
- Ability to successfully pass all pre-employment screenings
