Job Description

Provide expert, family-centered care as an experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse in a leading childrens hospital known for advanced pediatric specialties and compassionate healing environments. This contracted opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong Pediatric ICU and general cardiac experience, including skills in EPIC documentation and telemetry monitoring.

Location: The position is based in Waunakee, WI, at a prominent pediatric medical and surgical center recognized for its national reputation and comprehensive services. This facility offers a state-of-the-art 21-bed Pediatric ICU unit within a soothing environment that supports recovery and family engagement. Situated near Madison, WI, the hospital is conveniently accessible with onsite parking options and public transportation nearby.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care to critically ill or injured pediatric patients across a spectrum of medical and surgical conditions, including pulmonary diseases, neurological disorders, cardiac anomalies, organ transplants, multisystem organ failure, and ECMO management.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure family-centered care that promotes healing and safety.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records effectively to document patient care and clinical outcomes.
  • Support flexibility by floating between units based on staffing needs to maintain continuity and quality of care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse licensed in Wisconsin or holding a compact license from your permanent address state.
  • Minimum of three years experience in a high acuity hospital; Pediatric ICU experience is essential.
  • Strong general cardiac care and telemetry monitoring capabilities, including Basic Arrhythmia knowledge.
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • EPIC experience within the last 12 months preferred.
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
  • Travelers must reside within 50 miles of the work site location.
